Cornelius Kirk- You Matter

by | Jun 20, 2022

I got to meet with another person who wears many hats, Cornelius Kirk, life coach and founder of You Matter. Mr. Kirk once worked in sales but found that career path to be unfulfilling, so he left the industry to volunteer and explore until he found his calling in helping others. Kirk moved to the triangle in 2009, seeing the area was listed as one of the best places to live in the US and wanting a better environment for his children. “Wake county has a great school system” Kirk said, “the schools are constantly evolving, they have a goal to see 95% of their students graduate.” Moving to a new place and starting a new career are both daunting tasks and can be difficult. Kirk’s top tips to succeed are:1. Build Relationships2. Try new things3. Have discipline and set boundariesThese principles are how Kirk built his business in the Triangle and learned to develop a work/life balance. When he isn’t working, Kirk enjoys going to the local parks (such as Umstead State Park), exploring the art museum and gems such as Two Roosters Coffee and Boxcar. Cornelius Kirk has found a way to help others attain their goals and develop good habits while forming healthy habits of his own. He is a great representation of what you can do when you pursue something you love and he is a welcomed addition to the Triangle area.
