Kim Van Horn brings 18 years of experience in real estate deals and a drive to achieve her clients’ specific goals to every transaction. She has worked with hundreds of buyers and sellers, and she personally oversees every detail of their sales, educates them, and offers advice every step of the way, so that her clients can build trust with her and be empowered make intelligent and informed decisions for themselves.
 
EXPERIENCE:  Kim has managed deals on historic homes, new construction, land, flips, investment property, and everything in between. She has helped first time home buyers, estate heirs, investors, people moving to NC from out-of-state, and plenty of locals.  She spends a lot of time discerning her clients’ priorities, because she believes that is a crucial part of her job — and then she shows them how to realize their goals.
 
AREA:  Kim worked for a real estate agency in Cary for 8 years, a Durham agency for 3.5 years (plus she lived in Durham for 12 years), and has worked for a Raleigh agency for the last 6 years. She’s now lived in Chapel Hill for the last 9 years, so truly, she knows the whole Triangle/RTP area, and stays current on trends in the whole region.  With her broad background living and working across the Triangle, she can help buyers understand the characteristics of all the cities, towns, and neighborhoods of the area — which helps them choose where they will be happiest, which leads to the most successful outcome.
 
SELLING: Kim‘s goal is for every house she lists for sale to go under contract within 7 days— she believes that only houses that go under contract in the first week will bring top dollar, and of course that means that also means a quicker closing date. For the last 6 years, 75% of the homes she has listed have sold in the first week they were on the market.
 
PARTNERS:  Kim also brings to the table an “A List” roster of preferred contractors and service professionals that she’s cultivated and worked with for years — she can recommend everything from a home inspector and structural engineers to painters and a trusted closing attorney. Kim only uses professionals that she feels are as reliable as she is, and can recommend fully vetted, top-notch partners to you for every step of your transaction.
 
BACKGROUND:  In 2005, Kim moved to North Carolina from Washington DC, where she worked on Capitol Hill and on political campaigns as a press secretary, and then managed marketing projects for high tech and telecom companies and non-profits. As such, she brings solid experience brokering deals and professional marketing skills to the job of being a real estate agent.
