I first moved to the Triangle to attend North Carolina Central University (NCCU) and stayed after graduating. In 2007, my family and I moved to South Carolina for three years, however, we really missed the Triangle and returned in 2010. There is just so much to do here, especially for families.
My advice for newcomers is to explore all of the wonderful cultural events and family activities in the area.
As the Director of Undergraduate Admissions at NCCU, I am proud to be a part of its strong tradition of teaching, research, and service. Through a nationally recognized law school, highly acclaimed and innovative programs in the visual and performing arts, sciences, business, humanities, and education programs, NCCU students are engaged problem solvers. Our students enhance the quality of life of citizens and the economic development of North Carolina, the nation, and the world.
Located in the Research Triangle, the University advances research in the biotechnological, biomedical, informational, computational, behavioral, social, and health sciences. I encourage you to visit our campus and see all that we have to offer.
My top tips for success are P.I.E., which stands for Professional, Image, and Exposure and to read and learn as much as you can about your profession. My favorite thing to do in the Triangle is to browse the malls and local bookstores. You never know what you’ll find. My favorite restaurant isRuth Chis Steakhouse, wherever you find one.
