I’ve lived in the Triangle my whole life and love that it’s a great combination of everything – climate, proximity to the beach and the mountains, and plenty of things to do. With Research Triangle Park and major corporations all right here, it’s also the perfect location for my business – Overton Technologies. I think of the Triangle as a mini Silicon Valley – with a much more affordable cost of living.
At Overton Technologies we work directly with SAS Institute on professional consulting engagements, technical publishing, product development, and customer support. We do that by developing key information systems to help executives, managers, and employees get the right information to make better decisions. Our mission is to empower our clients to analyze and interpret the mountain of data they collect and utilize to run their department, division, or company.
My top tip for success is hardwork. I think success is the result of a combination of opportunity and talent. A door can be opened for you, but you need the drive and ambition to walk through it. One of my favorite things to do in the Triangle is bike along the Greenway; I think it’s one of the best things to do outdoors in Raleigh. You get a unique view of the city and a glimpse of cool homes you wouldn’t normally see. My favorite restaurant in the Triangle is 18 Seaboard near Peace College. Everything is fresh and local. One time, I even found a pearl in one of my oysters! Other favorite restaurants are Sullivan’s, Chuck’s, and Beasley’s.
