Big boom is coming to Pittsboro with Chatham Park

by | Jun 2, 2015

Chatham ParkWe’re excited about a huge development in the works near Jordan Lake and downtown Pittsboro. Chatham Park will cover more than 7,000 acres (Yep, you read that right — 7k!) and is designed to be a live-work-play community.

Location

The region of the future. That’s how this development is being described in a video on the developer’s website.

We couldn’t agree more. It’s a short distance from all the major locations – Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill. Plus, it’s convenient for people who work in the Research Triangle Park, and those who need quick access to Raleigh-Durham International Airport.

It’s estimated that the population of Pittsboro will get a boost of more than 60,000 people once this development is complete.

Mixed-use community

Chatham Park Investors were cleared by the town last December to go ahead with their Master Plan.

The community will include 25 unique home styles within five different villages. They will also have condominiums that overlook shops and restaurants.

It’s ideal for eco-friendly people who want to walk or bike to school, work or their favorite restaurant.

The mixed-use community concept is quickly catching on here in the Triangle. A mixed-use development blends residential, commercial, cultural and institutional into one place. You can usually find a variety of different home options, shorter commute times between work/school, and pedestrian friendly options. These areas also tend to build a strong community atmosphere.

You can take a virtual tour and get an aerial view of the property on the developer’s website.
