My wife, Annie, and I moved to the Triangle in 2007 to attend graduate school at Duke University. We loved it so much that we never left! My advice to newcomers is that this area has so much to offer in regards to shows, sporting events, food, and entertainment – Take the time to enjoy all that is offered in this tri-city area.

We are blessed to run a Christian non-profit organization called Uhuru Child, which is working to create sustainable solutions to alleviate poverty in the developing world through the creation of businesses and schools for those living in extreme poverty. Serving the needs of the poor opens the doors for us to tell them that they are loved by an amazing God, Jesus Christ. On a regular basis, we take teams of people to Kenya to help in our efforts to serve through our schools and businesses.

We would love to meet with you to tell you more about how you can touch the lives of people living in great need in Kenya. There are ways to serve locally, as well as coming over to visit the work we do directly in Kenya.

My top tip for success is to follow what you believe, in our case it is Jesus Christ, whole heartedly. As you go passionately after what you believe in, others will join as their hearts align. My favorite thing to do in the Triangle is to explore all of the local restaurants in the area with my wife. Some of our favorites are Merritt’s Store & Grill and Sutton’s Drug Store in Chapel Hill, Gugelhupf Bakery, Restaurant & Café and Foster’s Market in Durham, and the Angus Barn in Raleigh.
