We moved here from Wilmington in 1995. We both went to college here and we knew that the Triangle offered a lot of opportunities for a young couple who were ready to start a family. A few of the things that attracted us to this area were an excellent job market, real estate market, and school system. A wealthy, educated consumer market was also important, because I knew that I wanted to start my own practice one day. Also, at the time Money Magazine rated the Triangle as the #1 up-and-coming place to live!
We own a specialty veterinary practice, Avian and Exotic Animal Care, which we started in 1996. We see all kinds of pets OTHER than dogs and cats. We offer all of the same services you would expect from your regular vet, as well as acupuncture and herbal medicine. We have specialty diets and pet supplies, all catered specifically to exotic pets. We invite readers to call us for an appointment and to get established with our knowledgeable doctors and staff BEFORE you need us. You and your unusual pet will feel welcome and right at home!
My top success tip for the Triangle area is to get out and network! There is an incredible amount of opportunity here. Join your local professional association, speak at events, and “shake hands and kiss babies!” There is always room for those who excel in their field here in the Triangle! Our favorite thing to do in the Triangle is to go to the dog park at Millbrook Exchange Park on Spring Forest Road. Our favorite restaurants in Raleigh are Dos Taquitos Mexican Restaurant on Creedmoor Road, Manchester’s Grill on Leesville Road, and Gonza Tacos y Tequila on Lead Mine Road.
