New to Raleigh? Looking for a new favorite dining spot? Take time to visit some of my favorite restaurants in the North West Raleigh area. We’re so lucky here in Raleigh to have such a wide selection of restaurants and arrays of food and looking up choices with a google search brings up a list so long it’s overwhelming. But I wanted to take an opportunity to recommend a few of my local favorites.
I love spending time eating where the food is authentic and the atmosphere is welcoming. One of my favorite places for authentic sushi is Orchid Japanese Restaurant located in the Stonehenge Shopping center on Creedmoor Road. It’s a buffet style restaurant with a twist. They don’t have a traditional buffet where you select your food from a bar; they prepare the food when you order it, which makes for fresher sushi. They also have a menu you can order from! After you order, you can go up to the sushi bar and watch them make it for you. They have a Facebook page and have great reviews on yelp.com and urbanspoon.com.
For a truly fun family experience, check out Dim Sum House. Their atmosphere is perfect for families especially their Sunday brunch served dim sum style. Located in Morrisville, Dim Sum House is traditional in that it serves Dim Sum on carts on the weekend. You can still get Dim Sum during the week, but not from the carts. What a great way to sample a variety of menu items!
If you want Asian but something a little more daring, try Pho Super 9. It features authentic Vietnamese food at a reasonable price near BJ’s Wholesale Warehouse near Triangle Town Center. They offer a large list of imported beers, a wine menu and weekend specials. What a great place to experience Vietnamese cuisine for the first time.
Raleigh also boasts several great Thai restaurants. My favorite is Champa Thai in Brier Creek. Most of the ingredients, according to their website, are sourced locally to guarantee freshness reasonable price. Much of which comes from a garden their mother tends. The family is from northern Thailand and brings that northern influence to their dishes. Great food, great prices! I love these four restaurants, and visit them often! I hope you try all of them. As I mentioned in the beginning, there are so many choices in North Raleigh, you will never be able to experience them all. I’ve added some helpful links below for restaurant reviews and one of my favorite apps, Opentable.com. And if you find another place that becomes your favorite, share it with me. I am always looking for a new place to try. Restaurant websites: Orchid Japanese Restaurant Dim Sum House Pho Super 9 Champa Thai
