I love all aspects of real estate: working with people, helping them find their forever home, seeing two families successfully transfer houses, and, in this case, “flipping” a house. It takes vision, a small investment, and patience to see what a house could be and bring it up to date. With the help of amazing contractors, I recently purchased a home with the intent to remodel and re-sell it as more contemporary style home. I wanted to share with you the steps I took to make this happen. Watch the transformation. I think you will be amazed. Please feel free to leave comments, questions, etc. as you follow along. This is my passion. This is my specialty.
The house was built in 1965 and is a traditional style ranch with a basement. It is approximately 3,000 square feet not including the basement and has 4 bedrooms and 3 baths. There is a fifth room that could be a bedroom, but it doesn’t have a closet.
The first space we tackled was the kitchen. This part of the home used to be hidden away from guests while preparations were underway. But now people gather there to join in the preparation. It’s a focal point of discussion and socializing. In order to know where we started, look at the pictures below.
The bathrooms were the next logical place to start. Luckily the floors were in relatively good condition so those were left as is. We did however, replace the toilets, cabinets and we re-glazed both tubs. It gives them a cool retro-vibe. I can’t wait to show you the finished product!
