Famous for it’s ABC sandwich (apple, bacon, and cheddar), pub atmosphere, and gourmet menu at great prices, The Rockford has been a staple on the Glenwood Avenue since 1992. While many are familiar with the casual-dining restaurant, especially as a great spot to escape the Glenwood hustle and bustle, The Rockford has done an amazing job keeping a secret: THEY ARE OPEN FOR BRUNCH

The iconic blue door was recently repainted along with an interior remodel, giving the hip restaurant a face lift with shabby chic paint colors and vibrant modern art by local artists draped on the walls. However, when repainting the door they didn’t worry about changing the hours on the door. If you look on the restaurant website and Facebook page, there is no mention of brunch. Why? I have no idea for sure, but I can tell you, it sure is nice being on the inside of this secret!

You never have to wait for a table, the food comes out quickly, and the typical stressed-out forgetful brunch server is absent from the wait staff. It is also easier to get a spot outside at one of the three tables on the small patio outback which offers a unique view of the Glenwood skyline.

Additionally, the food is fresh and great every time, no matter what you order. I highly suggest the Bananas Foster French Toast for those who enjoy a sweet brunch and the Eggs Benedict for savory Sunday diners. This Sunday I split the two dishes with my best friend – an unbeatable combo!

I also have many friends who swear that Rockford’s Bloody Mary’s are the best in Raleigh. I haven’t personally tried one, but I must admit they were especially tempting. Open 7 nights a week, they also feature live music and nightly specials!
