My wife, Meghan, and I moved to the Triangle in 2011 to assist in the Imago Dei Church plant launch. My advice to someone moving to the area is to get connected and plugged into a community.

I am the Pastor for Corporate Worship at Imago Dei Church. Tony Merida and a handful of other couples moved from Mississippi to start Imago Dei in Raleigh. They have grown exponentially. Imago Dei is an evangelical, Southern Baptist church that believes Jesus is Lord. They teach from the Bible and support a Gospel centered community. Their growth groups are a place for people to do life together as they walk with the Lord. Check out our website at www.idcraleigh.com for location and service time information.

The mission of Imago Dei is to see lives changed by the Gospel. The PEACE acrostic shares their vision:

Plant churches

Evangelize the world

Aid the poor and sick

Care for the orphan and oppressed

Equip Leaders

My top success tip is to take risks. Our favorite thing to do in the Triangle is to go to Raleighwood. It’s a great place to see a movie and have dinner served to you at your seat. Our favorite restaurants are Charlie’s Kabob Grill, Saints & Scholars Irish Pub, and Big Ed’s City Market.
