I moved from Scotland to the Triangle for work in 2007. We chose to move to the Brier Creek Country Club – we just love the community of neighbors and friends we found here. Having the country club facilities and the social aspects of the club right at our doorstep is a huge plus, as is its location – being very convenient to anywhere in the Triangle. It is very close to my work in RTP and to RDU for those early morning flights when I have to travel.

My advice to newcomers is that there is so much to offer if you are ready to explore. I love that there are three cities so close (Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill). Each is so unique and offers a totally different experience. We love to travel and we often take weekend getaways on the convenient direct flights to Miami, San Francisco, Las Vegas, New York, and London. It is always great to get back home to Brier Creek, knowing that the busy city life is just a short flight away, but being able to enjoy an amazing lifestyle with my wife and kids here in the Triangle.

At Murgitroyd & Company we provide the means to get patent protection outside of the United States. We help internationalize the patents of US companies using a shared buying power model to get the best international patent lawyers for a reduced, fixed fee.

My top tip for success is to know where you are headed and take the next step. Our favorite things to do in the Triangle are to make s’mores in Umstead Park with my family and Rosie the Golden Retriever and going kayaking down the Haw River. My favorite restaurant is Lantern in Chapel Hill.
