When my wife and I relocated to the Triangle in 2005, it was supposed to be temporary. Coming from New York City, we didn’t think that North Carolina could provide us with everything we were looking for in a home. We were wrong. Almost 10 years later, there is no place we would rather be.
From the revitalized Tobacco District to the unbelievable restaurant offerings in downtown Raleigh to the museums, parks, and theaters, the Triangle is an area with something for everyone.
My company, Home Instead Senior Care of Chapel Hill, provides seniors and their families with the support they need to continue to live independently. Whether that comes in the form of someone to help with light housekeeping and run some errands or someone to help with more involved tasks, such as bathing assistance and dementia care, our CAREGivers provide the extra set of hands seniors need to continue to live safely in their own home.
My top success tip is one that I heard from Ed Foreman. “Winners are those people who make a habit of doing the things that losers are uncomfortable doing.” There are constantly things which present themselves that I would rather not have to deal with. Whether it is a conversation with an underperforming employee, time spent working to improve a skill that does not come naturally, or proactively dealing with a situation in order to prevent drama down the line, I know those who meet challenges head-on find success. Our favorite activity is going to see a show at the Durham Performing Arts Center. Our favorite restaurant is Vivace at North Hills.
